I Should Be Cleaning Right Now

Summary -

My house is improved, but still scary.

It's hard to stop every few minutes to deal with SJ, the amazing turd.

I was looking forward to cleaning while he was in pre-school this week. Then I found out that they are taking spring break. He is all mine!

He had a full day of tantrums yesterday. I now know that he can't have marshmallows in any way, shape or form.

My oldest daughter, who could help, is visiting her Dad for spring break.

I will never be done in time with all that needs done.

Along with all this cleaning, I have had to bake two birthday cakes from scratch, make out invites to the party next week, wrap presents and I still need to make gfcf Easter candy. Sigh.

Yesterday was horrid. I was picking up videos and SJ was throwing them on the floor twice as fast.

I looked up and shrieked, "God do you hate me?"

And God said, "Nah, I just don't like you very much."

Awwww, I'm sure you did a great job. When the children are around, it's impossible to get much done. Even cleaning out a drawer is a feat. Which is about all I got done.
I think if we just threw out a handful of crap a day, in about 15 years, we'd be sort of decluttered. I sort the mail over the recycling/shredding area. I take care of stuff from Youngest's backpack (5 therapists to read and write notes back to!) right away when he gets home. I take 5 minute reads to swimming and TaeKwonDo lessons, so I get the tidbit info stuff managed. I run errands w/oldest when youngest is at 2 therapies a week.
And we still live in total chaos, but at least I keep up with the children's stuff, and the mail isn't laying around. Oh, we also put up a see-through bin by the kitchen phone that holds all the bills. I highlight the due dates and sort them by date. That way, I look at the darn things every day when I answer the phone. Write checks or pay them online or via phone as they are due.
What are some of your organizational tricks?
One of my GFs occasionally throws everything away that is on top of her counters. Including dishes. She has Issues. But it sure sounds liberating to just SWOOP all the cleanup into the trash and haul it to the curb!

LOL there is always something eh? You certainly have your hands full. Need another pair of hands? hehe You sound like you have a lot more patience than I do though. :) What is gfcf candy?

btw...I read your comment about the chop suey...tht is hilarious that you called it the same thing!! I thought we wree the only crazy family out there. I'm from New Brunswick, Canada...which could explain why we both call it that!! Too funny! hehe

Vickee - What are organiztional tricks? :) I would love to meet your GF that swoops her counter clean. That's too funny.

Chelle - I have a cookbook called "Cooking the Maine Way" (or something like that). It has New England Chop Suey in it.

GFCF is gluten-free, casein-free. It's a diet that sometimes helps with the behavior of autistic children.

It's also a big, fat pain in the butt.

probably just the sugar, Carolyn. My kids go berserk too with too much sugar.

here it is spring, finally, and I am trying to just enjoy a bit. it's hard, I know. Cut yourself a break, dear, you are trying to do an awful lot.
and try not to obsess - just make the places that people will see livable and try not to worry about everything else. I'll come give you a hand after easter for those spots : )God, I wish I really could!

also Fannie Mae Candies here makes gfcf candy - is it possible some store in your area does too? Save you some major hassle...

Ah, we all have days like that. Sorry to hear it.
Cleaning day? What's cleaning day? The only reason my house isn't a disaster is because I haven't lived in it for the last month and half!

I am Mary and I am obsessive compulsive...I am a neat freak, and my daughter has me on meds...lol...I go batty with the cleaning, and Miss C doesn't give a rat's butt, how many times I put her movies and books on the shelf, she deems it necesarry to have them on the floor scattered about, so at 1 am when mom goes to the potty she slips and almost busts her ....
