Still Crap But Better
My time today was 10:47, but it about killed me. LOL
I'm a SAHM of three who is camera phobic. I have an eighteen-year old daughter, Jasmine, a nine-year old daughter, Azure and a five-year old son, Sammy. My husband is Big Spin or "BS" for short. All names have been changed to protect the not so innocent.

I think you're kicking ass!
I also think you're kicking some ass. I'm too lazy to even see what I could do. Although I did take a walk with my Ipod after work tonight. Baby steps. I'm impressed you're running!!! =)
That's not a bad time in the least!
My usual training pace is between 9:30 and a 10-minute mile. In fact, my first-ever race I ran a 9.30 pace to finish a 10k (six miles) in 56:29.
It's not about speed, it's about not stopping and pushing myself!
I have no idea how long it would take me to run a mile now, but I think I could do a 7-minute mile, which is faster than when I was young (well, about 10 which was when I still played lots of sports!).
I might give it a go when my new training toy arrives and I'll let you know.
But don't forget a couple of things - one, you can run a mile. Most people can't even do that and wouldn't even push themselves to do that in the first place. And two, you've already made huge progress in just a few attempts. Now don't push yourself too hard or you might actually injure yourself.
Next step, you might even start enjoying it! When I started running, I concentrated on running a kilometre which is what, just over half a mile? It took me a while, but I got there. Then it was two, and on, and on. Now I can go out and run five miles comfortably even though my training has been rubbish. I'm still a porker, but fuck me, I'm a fit one and I feel great!
Sorry to ramble on, I love that running stuff.
Hey...at least you are running a mile!! So who cares how long it takes??? Good for you!! Keep up the good work....you have inspired me today! :)
You go girl!
You're getting there. Soon you'll be doing a 4 minute mile :)
And I can tell you this: I couldn't run a mile to save my life, so you're kicking my ass for sure.
Ms. L - Thanks.
Yerdoingitwrong - I started out walking too.
Badgerdaddy - I'd love to run five miles. I went three on Thursday but it took me about 38 minutes. Five would rock.
Chelle - Thanks. I shouldn't care how long it takes but I like to compete with myself.
Ty - Thanks.
Waspgoddess - If I could do a four minute, I'd even enter a marathon. Hee
You rock!
It's not so much the time; it's that you did it at all. So kudos to you.
WOW good for you.
Not too damned shabby!
-J.
Gingers Mom - I am not a rock. :)
Old Hoss - Thanks. Do you know the cure for a knee popping in and out of place?
Lori - Thank you.
Joke - Only semi-shabby, LOL.
I did a couple of miles this morning and, frankly, it was hard and it was horrible. I managed the same kind of time as you - my mile time worked out as about 10:52, I did two miles in 21:45.
I was shocked - I think I have a love-hate relationship with my new training toy, as I now know how slow I am... Also, it's been four weeks since my last run and my word I could feel every step...
